What I build
PHP
New PHP 8 apps, the portals and APIs around them, and upgrades that move older PHP onto a current release. Read about upgrading to PHP 8.5.
WordPress
Plugins and themes written for one workflow, a new WordPress site when that is the right base, and updates or changes on a site that is already live. How to audit a WordPress site after a plugin compromise.
Next.js
JavaScript and TypeScript web apps on Next.js, deployed on Vercel.
Services
- CRM and API integrations that keep the system of record in step with the other tools.
- Client and staff portals for intake, review, and the screens a team uses all day.
- Custom platforms and tools, built rapidly from a blank start so a working web application is in use in the first phase.
- Legacy replacement when a rented product should become software you own.
- Small business software and automation for shops still running on spreadsheets, paper or old desktop programs.
- Practical AI placed inside the workflow, with the privacy rules you already have.
- HIPAA and SOC 2 ready software for healthcare and other teams that handle sensitive records.
How a project works
A quote is a short note from you and a written scope from me, with a fixed price on each phase. That first pass is free, and you can stop after you read it. Read what a free quote covers.
Free quote
You send a few sentences about the work. I read them and write back.
Written scope
Each phase has a fixed price. Work on that phase starts after you approve it.
Build and handoff
You get the repository, notes for the people using it, and notes for the next developer.
How pricing works
Free quote and intro call
Tell me what you need through the form, email or text. We'll set up a 15 to 30 minute call, and you'll usually have a written quote within the week. It costs nothing.
Fixed price per phase
Scoped projects like integrations, portals and conversions get a fixed price for each phase, with payment at each milestone. You see the total before anything starts, and you approve each phase as it's done.
Hourly or monthly retainer for ongoing work
Support, maintenance and small changes are billed hourly or on a monthly retainer, with a cap on hours so there are no surprise bills.
You own the code, and every project ends with full documentation on how to use the system and how it's built.

FAQ
WordPress or Next.js for my site?
If people on your team need to edit pages, WordPress is usually the better fit. I use Next.js when the site behaves like an application. If you are unsure, describe the job and I will choose with you.
Do you maintain sites you didn't build?
Yes. I take over PHP apps, WordPress sites, and Next.js apps that another developer started. First I look at the host, the update history, and what is risky to change.
Do you meet in person around Nashville?
Yes. I meet at offices in Nashville and the nearby towns when that helps, and I use video the rest of the time.
Can you work with my current host?
Yes, when that host can run the project. PHP and WordPress often stay where they are. Next.js apps go on Vercel. If the host is in the way, I will say so before a build starts.
What do you need from me to start?
Your name, your email, and a few sentences about the work. A phone number and a timeline are optional. Please do not send passwords or customer records.
What happens after I approve a phase?
I build the phase you approved, you review it, and the next phase waits until you say yes.
How fast can you build a new platform or tool?
The first phase is a working version of the custom software, scoped and priced before it starts. How long that phase takes is in the written quote, which usually comes back within the week. Later phases wait until you approve them.
